The theme of "the Way into Shamballa" requires reflective study and esoteric understanding….The burning, purifying, destructive effects of the monadic will upon its distorted reflection, the individual will, deeply deserves consideration.
(The Rays and the Initiations, p. 30)

This year’s dual touch from Shamballa, conferred by the two Taurus full moon periods, has perhaps given us impetus to deepen our understanding of the way into this “bright center lying far ahead.” D.K. describes Shamballa as “beauty, purity, simplicity and revolutionizing,” and these qualities give us the key to our approach.

Humanity learns through experience and surely the first Taurus full moon period prepared the way and made straight (or straighter) the path of approach at the occasion of the second festival. There was some debate within the group as to which full moon was the “real” Wesak, but perhaps one group member’s comment that there would be two approaches by the Buddha makes the most sense for, as he noted, Taurus is a dual sign. Also, the sacrificial nature of the Buddha’s relationship with humanity would surely incline him to go the extra effort at this time of preparation for the externalization.

The collective strength of the new group was “speeded upon the upward way,” bringing inspiration for the months ahead. But the aftershocks of the double touch may result in a sense of disintegration and disorientation, a type of spiritual shell shock, as the structures that no longer serve the purposes of the Plan fall away. There is a sense of standing outside the parameters of time and space, waiting for direction. The vision has been sensed and we can’t go back to the old ways.

Taurus is the constellation most intimately related to the collective of Humanity. It brings the opportunity for us to align with that collective and pierce the veils, the opposing forces, that normally block the light. The Pleiades, or seven sisters found in the neck of the bull, are likewise related to Humanity, to the matter aspect.

The conjunction of the second Taurus full moon with the stars in the Pleiades surely brought the light of illumination into the very depths of matter. The seekers of the world, working under the Law of Magnetic Impulse, have a key role to play in holding the channel open for the inflow of extra-planetary energies, facilitating the implementation of the Plan. Because of the delays in the working out of that Plan over the last fifty years, humanity--particularly the young--are suffering under the weight of structures that have long outlived their usefulness and are sorely inadequate to meet the present need. Hopefully the recent touches from Shamballa, and humanity’s growing ability to appropriate the will aspect, will contribute to our ability to make the needed readjustments.

The Buddha, who was ruled so powerfully by Taurus, was not content with the structures of his day. He enquired the way and sought to modify, qualify and adapt the ancient teachings to the need as he saw it. He made mistakes in the process of precipitation but his life was instrumental in releasing the light at that time of the great inpouring of the second ray energy in the East.

Likewise, as we work together during the next 17 year period in this Stage of the Forerunner (the time of the greatest inpouring of the second ray light in the West), we have to learn to make full use of this Taurean energy as we wrestle and fight our way into a greater measure of light. We have to find those new structures and forms that will better house the light, so that the way into Shamballa can be made straight. We, too, need to modify, qualify and adapt our message. Many years have passed since the teaching was given out and the world has changed. We need to change accordingly or we will be less effective transmitters of the great wave of light and love that is presently flooding the planet.

The last double Wesak influence occurred in 1989. June of that year witnessed the uprising in Tianamen Square and at the occasion of the polar opposite to Wesak, in the sign of Scorpio, we saw the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Perhaps now, nineteen years later, we can expect no less dramatic results.

November coincides with the general election in the USA—a country that seems to presently stand, in a certain sense, as the embodiment of the planetary dweller. This election is crucial and the forces of lying and distortion are organized powerfully against the implementation of the light. But so too are the forces of light well-organized and so the battle is fierce. The support of the worldwide esoteric group could do much to aid the just resolution of this situation.
