Those who participate in the Thursday “Reflective Meditation” for the reappearance of the World Teacher pledge to forget the past, strive towards their higher spiritual possibilities and do all they can to prepare human minds and hearts for this event. They affirm they “have no other life intention.”

As we enter the higher interlude period at this time of the Aries full moon and its conjunction this year with the spring equinox point (the spiritual “new year”), it might be helpful to review what this pledge means and what more we might do to contribute towards its realization.

The first thing that comes to mind is the group nature of the work to be done, which is the necessary precondition if we are to be successful in our efforts. In ashramic work, the individual initiative takes a back seat to the collective effort of the group. Group work brings about a blending and mingling of auras that exponentially extends the radius of contact. This intermingling can strengthen the bonds of love between group members, but it also produces stress and tension as the members come increasingly under the fires of group work.

Ashramic work has to provide something new--some new idea, some new project, and new method of working that satisfies the spiritual hunger of people today. In other words, to work successfully we must meet the changes in the world with corresponding changes in the way we carry out our work and the way we live our lives.

There are many avenues for these new ways of working offered by the constantly developing technology. Christ taught that we can’t pour new wine into old bottles and so it is today. Many years have passed since the teaching on the reappearance was first given out and if we are to reach a new generation with this message, we must learn to modify, qualify and adapt the teaching to the need as it is precipitating at this time—otherwise our work will fall on deaf ears.

Mary Bailey always insisted that when considering our service work we should think in terms of the greatest good of the greatest number. Before making any changes in our life direction, she advised us to always consider how we could best make an impact on public consciousness. And it was her belief that esoteric work always held out to us the greatest opportunity to extend the radius of our influence because it works with energy.

We work within the Law of Magnetic Impulse and know our efforts to be part of a vast planetary network that aligns us within the great chain of hierarchy. We take our place within that chain as participants within the vast process of change and transformation that is occurring in our world.

Through an understanding of the “Law of Service” our priorities clarify and our responsibility deepens. We come to understand how few people, relatively speaking, are available and willing to make the necessary sacrifices to do the work. Yet the workers are strengthened by their subjective affiliation and the energy released through collective effort.

We all have different skills but many talents are needed—organizers, business men and women, teachers, writers, fundraisers, technology experts, artists, musicians, film makers, PR people, and those sorely needed workers who help fund the work to be done. By working collectively, we can bring the message of what is really happening on our planet to the growing audience for which it is intended, moving beyond our inertia and into alignment with the currents of inspiration and hope.

The work to be done is relatively simple:

• to bring forward the teaching on the reappearance in a style and language that appeals to a broad base of seekers.

• to educate people on the true nature of the Hierarchy.

• to distribute the Great Invocation so it can become a world prayer.

• to gather the needed money with which to carry forward the work.

The Tibetan asked us to tell people everywhere that the Masters and Their groups of disciples are actively working to bring order out of chaos. He asked us to tell them that there IS a Plan, and that nothing can possibly arrest the working out of that Plan. He asked us to teach that the Hierarchy stands, and that It has stood for thousands of years, and is the expression of the accumulated wisdom of the ages

Above all else he asked us to tell people that God is love, that the Hierarchy is love, and that the World Teacher is coming because He loves humanity.

As we enter into the time of the higher Interlude, which auspiciously encompasses four full moon cycles this year, let us each ask ourselves what we can give more fully to the service of the Coming One.
