THE CLEAR COLD LIGHT

We live and work at a time of extreme tension incident to many factors, one of the most important being the growing impact of the spiritual will upon humanity. This will emanates from the center Shamballa, the only place of perfect peace within the planet. Paradoxically the impact of this force can be anything but peaceful as it plays upon and through forms that are unaccustomed to sustain the intensity of its vibration. This is helpful to keep in mind as we strive to stand steady during the present transition period.

Prior to the last century the Shamballa force only impacted directly upon the human kingdom twice in the long history of life on our planet. But during the last century we received three direct impacts—at the close of the second World War, in 1975 and again in the year 2000 and their effect is still working out. Overriding impressions from Shamballa are synthesis, wholeness, and fusion. These qualities blend well with the incoming Aquarian influence which relates to brotherhood, group work, and the distribution of the living water of life but the combination is powerful and that is why caution is needed if we are to successfully navigate these waters. Implications of the opportunity stand clearly before us. Are we able to rise to the occasion? The decisions we make within the next two decades will be defining factors, determing whether we move forward on the rising wave or crash on the rocks of our own selfishness, separateness and materialism.

In the past this energy of the divine will always worked through the Hierarchy, which stood as an intermediary between Shamballa and Humanity. Because of the stage being set on our planet for the emergence of the ashrams, this divine will is now pouring directly into human consciousness. This situation has parallels within the life of those spiritual seekers who are reaching that stage on the path wherein the spiritual will, the blazing sun of the Monad, is beginning to pour directly into the personality life via the antahkarana--destroying, purifying and obliterating all obstacles to the realization of Being.

This spiritual will in its early stages is akin to fire. The seeker responds to the call of this way with “fierce appeal” and affirms, “Naught in me seeks the way of peace, naught in me yearns for earth. Let the fire rage, the flames devour, let all the dross be burnt and let me enter through that gate, and tread the way of fire.” The fire is needed to burn away the obstacles and dross that impedes the ability to stand within the head’s clear light. This fire must be applied to all aspects of our lives, to the very root of our nature for only in this manner can the forces of destruction do their beneficent work and liberate us to be born anew, upon a higher turn of the spiral, under the conditioning influence of the glimmering spiritual will. In a line from Rule One for disciples and initiates we read, “Together let the band of brothers move—out of the fire, into the cold, and toward a newer tension.” This newer tension is defined as the penetrating impact of the immovable will of God.

In other words, to sustain the impress of the higher will we must cultivate the ability to wait and preserve our intention no matter what may be occurring in the outer world and within our individual lives. This involves standing steady amidst the whirling forces and cultivating that dual activity of sustaining the thread that connects us with the inner source while at the same time cultivating a sensitive response to the three worlds that makes our life and work of moment at this time of tremendous need.

Through the cultivation of inner listening and the attainment of stillness, energy is released. Our mental understanding becomes our base, our support, the foundation upon which we stand. But as we move forward toward the new tension, we move beyond the limitations of the concrete mind with its complexities and machinations and into the realm of pure reason or that straight knowledge with its swiftness and precision. If we wait and listen we may not receive the answers that appeal at the level of the personality but we will irrevocably receive those we need to tread the path more effectively, freeing us to move forward, in concert, as a united band of brothers-- standing within the head’s clear cold light.
