ON THE PATH TO WHOLENESS
by Cornelia Völksen
Summary
The article details the ascent of the human spirit to his Father. At
that high point the spirit connects with the disciple in order to
forward the processes of evolution of the whole within the limitations
of time and space. The Whole works through the part, and the part puts
itself in relation with the whole in the course of its evolution; it learns
to affirm the Whole increasingly and, in the end, elevates the Whole to
a higher level of wholeness. This process culminates in the merging of
Spirit and man.
When the Whole is expressed through the form, then divinity directly shines
on earth
We call this manifestation a soul-integrated personality, or a soul which
acts through its personality. When this happens the spirit begins
to guide the soul and it becomes increasingly expressive on earth until
he himself is manifested on earth.
It is an eternal circulation that ceaselessly generates and adapts itself
anew from out of the sum of its parts. We call it ultimately the appearance
of a son of God on earth. Every human being will at one time have the Christ
resurrected in him/herself and will be able to testify, by his deeds in
earthly life, to this inner divinity.
It is not the realization of this perfection that makes itself known first,
because it occurs on a higher plane of awareness. Rather, it is,
first and foremost, a realization that transpires in one’s physical
expression. In the beginning this may still take place unconsciously, but
it eventually becomes conscious and one sees oneself placed in a direct
relation to one’s soul, and later to Spirit itself.
The progressive overcoming of personality
When the soul expresses itself, that which was formerly dominant in one’s
life, does not live in one any more. The soul, on its own level, lives
in complete oneness, and is only pulled into a limitation via its relation
to its respective point of manifestation in incarnation. The soul, on its
own level, and that with which it has come into contact on the earthly
level, begin to work with each other in mutual exchange, in order to testify
to their mutual expression, with deliverance from limitation as the last
goal. In this last act of liberation the human soul on earth enters the
undivided state of the world’s soul and becomes progressively the
Spirit until it itself becomes the Father. Then the inner Christ rightfully
can say: “It is finished,” because the inwardly resurrected
Christ and the Father again are one.
To arrive at this Oneness the human being has to strive through the stages
of the cross. For many, many lives he/she will have to suffer on various
levels in order to attain liberation in the end. The cross, in its threefold
form, becomes a vehicle of ascension within the confines of time and space.
Within time there is the division and separation of the Whole into its
respective parts. Within time the undivided Spirit can get into touch with
himself, in order to generate increased experience through its parts.
It is a heightened experience that lifts the individual to a higher thread
of the cosmic spiral, to a level that comprises a centre in an even higher
cosmic being. This being animates this centre to “burn a little more” and
thus activates it—making it more sensitive to its own cosmic environment.
This is evolution, not only for humans, but for the Whole as well. Thus
man is integrated in order to reach wholeness on a higher level as part
of a perfectly organized whole.
Outer experience becomes inner understanding and the path
As with all things in our three worlds, the first impetus to move forward
on the path comes from outside, from the side of form. This impulse is
processed and transformed to a subtler level and in this way religions
prove a valid approach, through writing and pictures. Idealism leads to
reason which permits the entrance of new horizons. The mental realm enables
us to overcome religious idealism through the spirit which expresses itself
via the mental realm.
When this happens the human being climbs upwards along a self-made rope,
directly to the highest throne of God. A transformation takes place, man
becomes the expressive power of his/her soul and one with Spirit. Everything
before is situated in the past--he can still recognize its outer shape,
but he has overcome it within himself. He lives in what he has long since
overcome, and at the same time in that which is to be found in the Oneness
of all being.
Along this string, which is made of divine substance, Spirit can flow
downwards directly into humankind, as what the string is in each of its “moments” (if
I may use a term which may show most likely what is to be transmitted here)
is the earthly expression of personality on its way to
becoming divinity. Here we realize that the human being has to become
the path before he/she can begin to understand what is meant here,
because something of the “same” kind has to exist within the
other as a note which has been brought from outside. Humankind as
a whole is on its way to becoming a conscious disciple of the world, thus
this thought becomes relevant.
Man himself spins the thread through heaven directly into the heart of
the Father, because we are polarized in our second solar system, in our
highest being in the second divine aspect of love-wisdom. Through this
thread the human being can experience divinity dawning in himself and can
manifest it in the end. It is not taking on another identity; it is the
successive transformation of the many colours into the One. It is a transformation
that is attained through spiritual work. Here religious enthusiasm becomes
spiritual striving. The latter transforms the human being in such a way
that he himself becomes the path.
Testifying undivided divinity within the distinction of time and space
Let us assume that a human being manages to manifest divinity in some
form of graded awareness. He then shows that part of the Whole (outside
of time and space) which is connected, via time, with that which manifests
divinity on earth. We can then see the same undivided divinity appear on
earth on some level of his graded chain of manifestation.
If this divinity can be lived on earth (at this stage the personality
itself does not have to be conscious of it) the life of the personality
has gone beyond its own level and belongs to the past.
Since, within the Whole, we are dealing with an intelligent organization
which forms itself as that goal which is the final goal of all striving,
we can assume that the final goal will become true, as all parts of the
Whole have emerged out of the Whole and are “secretly impregnated” with
the goal of the Whole.
If the Whole rules in the transitory part of the Whole and expresses wholeness
on some level of its realization, then the radiance of splendour begins
to shine through form. This we call radiation; it is liberation from the
limitation of the human spirit on some level of its experience into the
widened dawning of consciousness of its own origin. In their perfect manifestation
man and Spirit are now consciously one.
Conclusion:
These ideas presented in this article have attempted to transform the
impression of divine completeness to the level of differentiation within
time and space, so this process can be seen as an external drama, before
the inner eye of the reader. It has been an attempt to mediate the “shining
down” of divine splendour on a self-spun thread of the path, where
the form testifies its own divinity on some evolutionary level in theTemporal-Terrestrial. The
form stands here for the whole cosmic-physical level as that is, in the
end, what it is regarding the whole cosmic experience. Within this cosmic-physical
level, parallel to the Whole, run the partial process of this Wholeness
on their respective levels, to generate Wholeness on earth as in the Cosmos.
