The year 2012 is anticipated by many as climactically significant. Great changes are anticipated on our planet and, consequently, within the human race. At such times of heightened global expectation, much of it based on undisciplined imagination and erroneous premises, it is important to carefully examine the history and destiny of humanity and the role it is divinely intended to fulfill in the development of our planet as a great station of light.

Humanity is intended to develop lawfully and scientifically under the guidance of certain greater beings with whom it has, for the most part, lost touch. It is important for the human race to understand the purpose of these benevolent, supervisory beings and, scientifically and systematically, to come into closer rapport with them. This humanity can do by seeking to understand the 'Science of the Soul' and attempting to live that science by carefully following the Laws of the Soul. This effort will offer a most necessary counterbalance to the unfounded and glamorous expectations for human spiritual progress based upon wishful thinking.

During the next few centuries (with encouraging results appearing even now) humanity will make a momentous scientific discovery--not the kind of discovery which will further unveil the wonderful mysteries of the 'outer world', explanations of which modern science has offered in abundance, but a revelation concerning the extraordinary “inner” nature of the human being. This has always been the great question: what really is man? Philosophers and exponents of many world religions have sought to answer this question in various ways, and scientific inquiry has also offered its theories and the results of its experiments. But so far the answers suggested by science, while offering truly fascinating information about man's ‘outer’ nature, have left the depths of the true inner man untouched. During the impending Age of Aquarius, with its accent upon the fifth ray of mind and seventh ray of magic, all this will be changed and the nature of the "inner man" will stand revealed in a manner which will revolutionize humanity's self-conception. This revelation will also stabilize the way man lives--something of which we are very much in need.

Students of life's mysteries owe a great debt of Gratitude to Mme. Helena Blavatsky, who presented in her book “The Secret Doctrine” (a book with which Master Djwhal Khul cooperated extensively behind the scenes) a vast and astonishing history of human race and the planet on which it lives. The information given is that which has for millions of years been in the safe custody of the Spiritual Hierarchy, the Inner Government of our planet. A couple of centuries ago, the Members of this Hierarchy decided to undertake a kind of scientific experiment to see whether humanity was ready to receive and profit from such arcane knowledge concerning its nature and origins. During the past century and a half a flood of once-secret knowledge has been fed into human consciousness. The final result of this revelation still remains to be seen, but we can safely say that humanity's conception of itself has been expanded immeasurably.

One of Helena Blavatsky's greatest revelations concerned certain divine beings who are called "Solar Angels" and by many other names: "Agnishvattas", "Lords of the Flame", "Sons of Mind", etc. These "Hearts of Fiery Love" (who, in a previous solar system were human beings just as we are now) are the true "Saviors" of our present human race. Millions of years ago they entered into intimate spiritual (and even physical) association with the animal man of the period and have nurtured humanity ever since. Their ministrations have greatly accelerated the growth of human consciousness and expression which, even today, would have been primitive indeed compared to the relatively high level of human advancement thus far achieved. Functioning under the fifth and second rays, they gave early man the gift of mind millions of years before he would have become a thinking, self-conscious being. They made possible the amazing development of the fifth ray in the consciousness of modern humanity.

Those human beings who are in the forefront of spiritual development are at last realizing the existence of these great manasic angels of love and wisdom. Through meditation and service the modern spiritual aspirant and disciple attempts to contact these beings and cooperate with them as they seek to guide humanity towards its luminous spiritual destiny.

We all realize that human beings were not always as intelligent as they are now, some twenty-one million years after the birth of the human race on our planet. Humanity has been cultivated and guided by the great love and intelligence of the Solar Angels. In the early days of evolution, millions of years ago, these angels and the still greater Kumaras whom they serve, presented humanity with spiritual laws which, if carefully followed, would have led the human race on to spiritual success. Students of ancient human history know that humanity, for the most part, repudiated these laws, suffered greatly as a result, and are still suffering because of this unwise rejection. But, now, again, and on a higher turn of the evolutionary spiral, the time has come for the rediscovery of the laws by which the Solar Angels are, themselves, guided—the Seven Laws of the Soul, presented by Master Djwhal Khul in his book, “Esoteric Psychology II.”

Advanced humanity is becoming aware of these laws at a time when it is learning scientifically to apply the fifth ray of mind to the investigation of the “inner nature” of the human being. Eventually, we are told, the soul nature of man, (his egoic nature on the higher mental plane) will be scientifically 'discovered' and factually proven. This may lie a few centuries ahead, but already it is possible, by understanding and living the Laws of the Soul, to enter the soul domain and to experience oneself factually as the Higher Self.

A time which the redeeming Solar Angels have long anticipated is now at hand. Following the inevitable purification which lies before the human race, we shall enter a New Age in which the nature of the soul and its laws, and the manner in which the Solar Angels foster human development will stand revealed. The marvelous discoveries for which modern science is thus far responsible, will pale in comparison to the scientific discovery of the human being as a soul-in-incarnation and a soul on the higher mental plane.

We believe that by focusing on the aeonial mission of the Solar Angels (the "Redeemers of Humanity") and by attempting not only to understand the 'Science of the Soul' but to live the life of the soul scientifically and according to the Seven Laws of the Soul*,* humanity will enter an era of unprecedented spiritual expression which will totally transform the human race. It is time for the fifth ray to be applied in proving that which the best world philosophers and spiritual individuals have always known intuitively. Humanity suffers from a severe case of mistaken identity and it is time for the resources of human intelligence and subtle scientific investigation to be applied to the correction of these misconceptions.

We are all looking forward to the 26th USR-SRI Conference, occurring in the momentous year 2012 which may well prove decisive for human progress during the 21st century. We hope you will find it possible to attend in person. Together we will focus meditatively in the light of the soul and apply the resultant illumination to the task of living the life of the soul in a world sorely in need of soul realization.  The Science of the Soul--a great fifth ray/second ray science and an aspect of the Science of Spiritual Occultism-- must find its rightful place among the great sciences which humanity has developed. At a time when human consciousness is showing marked signs of instability, and in a year which accentuates this instability, let us find new ways to bring the Science of the Soul to humanity. Above all let us live as souls, demonstrating that we have proven the fact of the soul to ourselves!

Esoteric Astrology Pre-Conference Workshop

The Solar Angel in Your Astrological Chart

This year, 2012, the theme of our 26th Annual Conference is, The Coming of the Solar Angels: Living the Science of the Soul. Building upon this theme, our Pre-Conference Astrological Workshop will focus upon The Solar Angel in Your Astrological Chart. The highest of the Solar Angels (in the diversified solar angelic hierarchy), is a great Being Who guides our evolutionary development for millions of years. The degree to which we can contact the Solar Angel and respond positively to its consciousness and divine energy is the measure of our success in the pursuit of spiritual evolution. Through the study of various planets in our astrological chart, especially the planet Venus, we may learn how we may best access and apply this solar angelic energy to the karmic and dharmic life circumstances we encounter. The Solar Angel also works through the Rising-sign and, of course, through the opportunities provided by all planetary positions to a certain extent.

Our task during this workshop will be to detect the solar angelic influence in our lives and to work with an understanding of our astrological chart so that the purpose of this great Being as it seeks to express itself through our personality nature may be fulfilled. This will mean that we will express as soul-infused personalities serving with skill the Divine Plan for our planet, the Divine Plan of which the Solar Angel is fully informed.

We will have a distinguished international team of esoteric astrologers, as usual, to assist with a deeper understanding of your astrological chart and its potentials. Those who are new to esoteric astrology are always welcome; you will receive teaching which will help you build a foundation for future astrological study. Experienced students of this “greatest and oldest of all the sciences” will also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the more esoteric aspects of astrology.

The Pre-Conference Astrological Workshop begins on Saturday, April 21st and will end on Monday April 23rd at 4:00 pm. We invite you to join us in an in-depth inquiry into your deeper soul potentials and the means of their fuller expression through a knowledge of the Science of the Soul as revealed by esoteric astrology.

Ceremonial Workshop Pre-Conference

During the past Conference Workshops we have been studying the Secrets of the Mandala. The Mandala is the most sacred visual way of seeing into the unseen Worlds of Deity. We divide this great and ancient Teaching into four parts: the Mandala (Universe, Circle, Abode of the Deity), the Tantra (Teaching), the Yantra (Talisman) and the Mantra (Sacred Utterance).

This year we will search deeply into the meaning of the spiritual tool, the Holy Talisman of Deity, the Yantra. Yantra is a specific way of expressing patterns in geometrical symbolism. Different celestial Intelligences have different Yantras dedicated to their specific service and power over the manifested worlds. These Yantras are said to be the most effective tools for mortals to use for protection, guidance and manifestation. The use Yantras requires that we somewhat understand their inner reality. We must understand the symbolism through which the divine is expressed and in which its purpose and existence is hidden.

This year we will meditate and ponder more deeply than ever before upon hidden spiritual recesses of our own Being. We will try to penetrate through the incredible symbolism of the Golden Disc, which D.K presents in the Old Commentary as the “Golden Door”, also mentioned in the Gayatri Mantram. We will bring forth our own personal Yantric tool to be used during the coming years of our spiritual pilgrimage. Putting Our Knowledge of the Seven Rays into Practice -
So We Can Live the Science of the Seven Rays

“All is Energy” and esoteric science and philosophy tell us there are seven essential types of energy that make up all that is – including all of us.  These energies are the Seven Rays, and each ray energy has its unique qualities, strengths and weaknesses to transform into virtues.

Learning to apply the knowledge of the Seven Rays in our own lives is vitally important if we are to achieve our destiny, and is an indispensable key to fulfilling the injunction of the Delphic Oracle, “Know Thyself”. Our soul-guided task is to create a sound hypothesis for our own individual ‘Seven Ray Formula’ – consisting of our soul ray, the rays of our three personality vehicles and even, if we can intuitively estimate it, the ray of our Monad or Spirit. In this workshop, deep spiritual knowledge will be offered, but the emphasis will be on applying such knowledge in a practical, insightful, experiential and enjoyable way. We will draw on our own soul for inspiration as we create our individual ray hypothesis, with the help of feedback and suggestions from experienced teachers of the Seven Rays.  Once an individual ray formula is created, it can be ‘worn’ or ‘tried on’ just as a person would try on an outfit of clothing to see how well it fits.   

Adjustments in our Ray Formula are sometimes needed as, through experience, we realize more about ourselves and about the qualities of a particular ray energy. Over time we tend to determine whether a ray we originally assigned to a particular aspect of our nature really describes who we are—or does not.   For instance, a Ray Formula that seemed to work for us when we were young may need some adjustment later in life simply because we have grown and changed a great deal over the years.  Thus, assessing one’s Ray Formula is an on-going process that is periodically revisited in order to achieve greater insights into our ray nature and to conceive such modifications as may seem required.

If you are new to the Seven Rays Teaching, you may want to consider taking the PIP II (Personal Identity Profile II) developed by Michael Robbins and his colleague Rick Good. PIP II is a  ‘Seven Rays Evaluation Test’ that is available on the Internet at http://pipiionline.com/  The PIP is fundamentally based on the writings on the Seven Rays which are found in the Alice A. Bailey Books, Esoteric Psychology I and II. Pip II can give you a good start in your individual ray evaluation process.

The Seven Rays Pre-Conference Workshop is supervised by Michael Robbins, Ph.D., President of the University of the Seven Rays and author of Tapestry of the Gods –a two volume treatise offering an in-depth interpretation and suggested applications of the Seven Rays Teaching which was originally presented to humanity by the Master Djwhal Khul (“The Tibetan”). Michael also developed the USR-SRI “Seven Ray Seminar” and the Masters Degree Program in Esoteric Psychology (the M.S.E. Degree Program). Quite a number of teachers of the Seven Rays and Esoteric Psychology have emerged from that program and are spreading their esoteric understanding across the globe.

Michael’s collaborators in this workshop presentation are a team of experienced teachers and practitioners of the Seven Rays and Esoteric Psychology: Eva Smith, Heidi Rose Robbins, Kathy Newburn, Eva Simonsen and Olivia Hansen. During this workshop Michael and his co-workers will be sharing their extensive experience and understanding of  the Seven Rays, Esoteric Psychology (and Esoteric Astrology) to the task of helping attendees formulate their Ray Hypothesis, clarify their life purpose, fulfill their destiny and, in general, improve the radiance and quality of their life.
